• On Xbox or the Xbox app: crossplay is enabled by default.
• On PlayStation: make sure crossplay is allowed in the game settings.

Grounded Multiplayer: How Co-op Works

Grounded multiplayer supports up to four players in a shared world, in both games. One player hosts and the others join through the friends list or an invite. Is Grounded multiplayer split screen? No, there is no split screen, so every player needs their own device and copy.

Does Grounded have crossplay in dedicated servers too? Both games use player-hosted worlds rather than official dedicated servers, so the host needs to be online for friends to join.

Cross-Save Between Platforms

Crossplay and cross-save are different. In both games, your save moves between Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on PC. Steam and PlayStation saves stay where they were created, so pick one platform for your main world.

Where to Get Grounded and Grounded 2

Both games are included in Game Pass on Xbox and PC, and both are sold on Steam and the PlayStation Store. An Xbox gift card pays for Game Pass or a copy of the game, and a PlayStation gift card does the same on PS5. For other game top-ups, a Razer Gold balance covers many PC titles.
