Summary: No, not in the way most people mean. Stardew Valley has no crossplay between PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch, and each console only connects to its own family. The exceptions are PC, where Windows, Mac and Linux players can share a farm, and mobile, which has a hidden experimental mode for joining a PC-hosted farm. There is no official cross-save.
- PC players on Windows, Mac and Linux can play together, including across Steam and GOG.
- Consoles only connect within their own family, such as PS4 with PS5.
- Android and iOS have a hidden experimental multiplayer mode that can join a PC farm.
- There is no official cross-save, so a farm stays on the platform where you started it.
Stardew Valley is on almost every device you can name, which is why the question comes up so often. Being available everywhere is not the same as playing together everywhere, and in this case the gap is wide.
Where Stardew Valley Multiplayer Works
The combinations that work today:
- PC with PC: Windows, Mac and Linux share one multiplayer system, and Steam and GOG copies can join each other when everyone is on the same version.
- PlayStation with PlayStation: PS4 and PS5 players can farm together.
- Xbox with Xbox: Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players can farm together.
- Switch with Switch: Nintendo players connect only with other Nintendo players.
- Local split-screen co-op on consoles and PC, for friends on the same sofa.
What does not work is anything crossing those lintch farm, and PlayStation and Xbox never meet.

The Mobile Exception
The one real change in recent years is on mobile. The Android and iOS versions of the 1.6 update include a hidden experimental multiplayer mode, documented in the official Stardew Valley mobile guide. With it, a phone or tablet can join a farm hosted on a PC by connecting to the host's IP address.
It is labeled experimental for a reason. It is not in the main menu, it needs matching versions, and it is not the same as matchmaking. The Apple Arcade edition, Stardew Valley+, does not support it.
Why Stardew Valley Has No Crossplay
Stardew Valley began as a one-person PC project and multiplayer arrived later. The console and mobile versions were ported separately, so they do not share the same code, and crossplay would also need approval from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. Back in 2018, creator Eric Barone said plainly that there would not be crossplay, and nothing official has changed that position since.
Cross-Save Is Not Supported Either
There is no official way to move a farm between platforms. A save started on Switch will not load on PC, and a PlayStation farm will not move to Xbox. PC players who are comfortable handling files can sometimes move a save between PC and mobile manually, but this is unofficial and not something to rely on for a long-running farm.

Choosing a Platform for Your Farm Group
Pick the platform where most of your group already plays, because switching later means starting a new farm. For the most flexibility, PC is the strongest choice: it has the widest multiplayer support, mods, and the only route for mobile players to join in.
