Six things to check before you switch

Most businesses that switch also pay partners, send invoices and issue refunds. Check how each provider handles all of it.

Accepting payments

A percentage, a fixed fee per order, or both? Which coins and plugins?

Sending payouts

Does a recipient need a wallet, an account or an ID check? Can you pay in bulk?

Invoicing

Email or link? Can bills repeat on a schedule?

Refunds

Where does the money come from, and who confirms it?

Settlement

Fiat, stablecoins or crypto? How often, and what’s the minimum?

Licence and access

Who is authorised, and by which regulator? Is onboarding open in your country?

Here’s how we keep these comparisons honest

A comparison is only useful if you can trust it. Every page follows these rules.

  • Primary sources only. Every rival fact links to its own source.

  • Licences from the register. Taken from ESMA, not press releases.

  • Dated and quoted. Exact wording, with the date we checked it.

  • No guessing. If a provider doesn’t say it, we leave it out.

  • Fair both ways. Each page says where the rival may fit better.

  • Corrections welcome. Out of date? Tell us and we’ll fix it.

Switch gateways in four steps

Connecting checkout is most of the work. Payouts, invoices and settlement are set up in the dashboard.

1

Open a business account

Sign up and verify. No setup or integration fees.

2

Choose how you settle

EUR, GBP, USD, stablecoins or crypto. Skip it and orders settle in USDC.

3

Connect and test

WooCommerce, WHMCS, Magento 2, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Wix or the API. Test in the sandbox.

4

Move the rest

Add Payout Links and recurring bills. Run both providers until you’re sure.

Questions about switching providers

Is CoinGate licensed under MiCA?

Yes. ESMA’s register lists UAB Decentralized, trading as Coingate, as authorised by the Bank of Lithuania on 16 December 2025.

What does CoinGate charge?

1% on Standard, with no monthly, setup or integration fees. Enterprise pricing is custom. Payout, refund and withdrawal fees are on the pricing page.

Can I send payouts and invoices too?

Yes. Pay a wallet, or just an email address with Payout Links. Send bills by email or link, one-off or on a weekly or monthly schedule.

Can I get paid in euros instead of crypto?

Yes. Settle in EUR, GBP or USD, in USDC or EURC, or in crypto. If you don’t choose, orders settle in USDC.

Are there chargebacks?

No. Crypto payments are push-only and can’t be reversed. Money goes back to a customer only when you send a refund.

Can I keep my current provider while I test?

Yes. Offer both at checkout and move traffic over when you’re confident.
