Stablecoins are quickly becoming an integral part of global financial markets.
It’s easy to see why—stablecoin payments and settlements are fast, borderless, and convenient, giving businesses and institutions every reason to incorporate them into their financial operations.
Payment statistics back this up. In our recent crypto payments report, we highlighted that stablecoins account for more than one-third of all payments made to CoinGate-powered merchants.
For instance, Ondato, a SaaS company specializing in streamlining KYC and AML-related processes, reported that 96.3% of the crypto payments they receive are made in stablecoins.
Fast-forward to the summer of 2024, and stablecoins continue to deepen their presence in global financial systems. Circle, a global financial technology firm and the issuer of USDC and EURC stablecoins, has become the first global stablecoin issuer to achieve compliance with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework.
This is a tremendous achievement for Circle and the crypto markets, and we are excited to have joined the Circle Alliance Program, a global network of like-minded companies and teams focused on the future of finance.
As members, we are looking forward to building new connections and continuing to learn and innovate in the payments space with USDC and web3 technology. You can now find us on the Circle Alliance Directory.
Looking ahead
Joining the Circle Alliance Program for CoinGate is another step towards establishing ourselves as a leader in the crypto payments space as we continue to innovate and expand our mix of payments processing and payouts products for businesses across the globe.
In addition to supporting USDC payments on Ethereum and Arbitrum networks, we’ve recently introduced USDC payments on Solana, as well as USDC deposits on Ethereum, BSC, Tron, and Polygon networks. And there’s much more to come.
